Maybe We Could, We Can
What if I could pick up a field of grass and wrap it around myself,
Maybe I flip a switch and turn night to day, or day to night depending on what we needed
Maybe I could find you a pair of glasses that changed the world to black and white and you could see the world the way you read your books
We could sit in the shower and allow the walls to collapse and the world to flood with water, we could dance like sea horses and eat coral for dinner
We could drain the world of all the bugs we fear and make the rain look like confetti
We could take the train over the mountains and into the sky
I could pick up the brightest star and wrap it around your finger to always have, no matter how dull the day
The sunrise peeping into our room, to see us screaming into each other’s mouths, the orgasmic hugs that guide us to finally close our eyes, sleeping in separate beds sandwiched together
We could cuddle in our dreams the way you like and I could learn touch in a way that didn’t hurt
Share my headphones and listen to each others thoughts
Drink up the sunshine like milkshakes at our favorite diner
Sip tea that felt like the warm sun from the beach on our skin
Climb a tree and become the tallest people in the world, swinging off to fly into the city sky line
You could crawl into my mind and l could show you the world I live in
